When you’re online looking for a place to eat, do you tend to choose the restaurant with higher ratings? What about when you’re shopping on Amazon or looking for a hotel, do you decide to buy from the company with higher customer reviews? Today’s tip isn’t just about what effect customer reviews have on your potential customers, it’s also about the effect it has on how your social media content is distributed to your audience.

Today’s tip is about the importance of the star rating on your Facebook page.

Whenever someone visits your page, the review section allows them to see what kind of experience other people have had with you.

What most people don’t know is that these reviews are also one of the factors that Facebook uses to determine whether or not your content appears in users’ timelines. It’s even to the point that reviews affect your SEO in Google searches. Currently, there isn’t a simple share option to ask people to rate your page, so you’ll have to put in a little extra effort when it comes to asking for customer reviews.

You can do this by simply sharing your page and asking your customers to take a quick moment to head over to your page and give you a rating with some feedback. Once they do, be sure to thank them and share some of your favorites to your timeline.
